The Elephants Always Line Up to Hug This Old Lady. The Reason Made Me Speechless

Did you know that elephants stay in their mom’s womb for 2 years before they are birthed? Or that they can die of a broken heart? However, Daphne Sheldrick learned this the hard way. Her very first elephant infant died when she left him alone for four days to attend her child’s wedding event. That’s when she discovered that like humans, elephants require a family to survive.

Daphne Sheldrick was a writer and also guardian. She was a professional on taking care of orphans and rehabilitating orphans into the wild. Actually, the preservationist spent her entire life taking care of baby elephants in an orphanage in Nairobi. Together with her human household, she rescued deserted elephants from the wild as well as conserved their lives. However she constantly claimed that she was the one learning from these majestic creatures!

In this clip from ArgoFilm’s “Knowledge of the Wild,” we can see Daphne in her orphanage. She is managing the adorable elephants, rubbing them in the dirt, and also playing with them! Furthermore, you can see the love she has for all the pets she encounters. You need to watch the amazing throwback video clip below:
