France has many unusual properties for sale. Abbeys, factories, prisons … many atypical properties attract the envy of a demanding clientele.
It is a world apart which barely represents 15% of the real estate market: that of non-standard but completely habitable properties. “Most of the sellers who entrust us with their goods wish to remain anonymous. We are really in relatively confidential sales ”, explains Kévin Weyhaubt, associate director of Espaces Atypiques. The clientele of this particular box is French and international. Transactions range from 200,000 euros to over 3 million euros.
Virtual reality tours
These real estate agents sell around thirty properties per year in the Bas-Rhin. They rely on their website, which offers virtual reality tours for each accommodation. Customers are less careful about the prices than about the decoration. You don’t sell an old abbey like you sell a student studio. Communication is also different from that of traditional agencies. “For example, we will be in lifestyle magazines that will reach our customers, lovers of decoration, design and art in general”, says Cécile Franck Weyhaubt, associate director of Atypical Spaces.
