Friday, May 15, the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) will automatically pay 4 million disadvantaged families exceptional assistance. A form of solidarity to face the consequences of the pandemic.
In Dreux, in Eure-et-Loir, Barbara Chamsi, a stay-at-home mother, has an appointment with an association that supports disadvantaged families. Without a job for eight years and with a dependent child, she wants to know more about the aid that will be paid to her on Friday, May 15 after two months of confinement. For beneficiaries of social minima, assistance of € 150 will be paid by CAF, plus an additional € 100 per child under 20 years old.
The food budget weighed on households
Families receiving housing allowance will receive € 100 per dependent child. Barbara Chamsi will therefore automatically receive a transfer of € 250. Feeding her son is her priority. “The fridge must be full and then I manage. My priority is to pay my bills and feed my child ”, testifies the stay-at-home mother. With confinement and children at home, the food budget weighed on households and over-indebtedness worsened for some families.
