“We cannot carry out the reform as before the crisis, but it must be done with the same relationship to the truth that we had in the Covid crisis”, declared the President of the Republic to the Press Association presidential.

The pension reform, interrupted due to the coronavirus health crisis, is “necessary“Emmanuel Macron told reporters on Friday August 28. “The universalization of the regime is an element of justice”, justified the Head of State, explaining that the workers of the “Second line” to whom the French paid tribute during the confinement were “Sacrificed in the current system”. The postponement of the pension reform to 2021, as well as that of unemployment insurance, was announced on July 17 by Jean Castex at the end of a meeting with the social partners. The Prime Minister then declared that he wanted to put in place a new method for the universal pension system to “improve its content and readability for our fellow citizens ”.
