The government continues to consider what the future pension reform in France might look like. One of the possible innovations envisaged would be to revalue certain small pensions. A minimum of 1,000 euros per month would be introduced to help the 5.7 million retirees who currently receive less.

How to finance this reform?

A parliamentary report looked into the possible implementation of this pension. He explains in particular that if it focused only on new retirees, it would cost 2.1 billion euros per year to the State in 2050. The sum would be the same if it concerns all retirees but this, from 2025. In order to do so. to finance this pension, several possibilities are envisaged: this could involve the tax of better-off people, large inheritances or the creation of a second day of solidarity.
