Before the examination of the pension bill began, the government made further concessions to families. The fate of the divorced raised concerns.
The government is reviewing its copy to favor women in particular. For divorced women, on the death of their ex-husband, they will be entitled to 55% of the deceased’s pension in proportion to the years of marriage. This is an advantage that had disappeared in the initial project. If the ex-husband remarried, his spouse will receive 70% of the couple’s income as expected. The new expenditure will be financed without increasing the budget according to the majority.
2.5% will be automatically granted to mothers
For single-parent families, there will be an increase in the pension without knowing the amount for the moment. More generally, the reform provided for a 5% retirement bonus per child for one of the two parents. From now on, to favor women, 2.5% will be automatically granted to mothers and the rest will be distributed between the two parents.
