“It is a disaster for the men and women who work there, a disaster for the territory of Saint-Claude”, reacts Tuesday, June 22 on franceinfo Marie-Guite Dufay, president (PS) of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, after the placement in judicial liquidation of the MBF Alu foundry, based in Saint-Claude in the Jura. 284 employees will lose their jobs.

A “phenomenal industrial waste”

“It’s a phenomenal industrial waste, because there is skill in this company (…) But it is a company that has been so badly managed in the past years that there it is bloodless”, continues the elected socialist. “I understand their enormous anger, I understand their anguish”, concludes Marie-Guite Dufay, about the employees of MBF.

Several of them were on site at the Dijon court on Tuesday June 22 in the morning at the announcement of the deliberation, in tears for some. They expressed their anger by tagging and overturning an MBF approved car in front of the judicial city, reports France Bleu Besançon.
